New Cell Phone Procedure
April, 2006

There is an existing rule in the Keshequa Middle/High School Handbook that prohibits cell phones and other electronic devices
such as IPods, CD players, etc. from being in school during school hours (8:00-3:30).The following new procedure has been adopted should a student be found with such a device:

1.    First Time Offense
Device will be brought taken and brought to the MS/HS Office,
where the student may pick it up after school.

2.    Second Time Offense
Device will be taken and brought to MS/HS Office,
where the student's parent will need to pick it up.

3.    Third Time Offense
Device will be taken and brought to the MS/HS Office;
student's parent will need to pick it up and
the student will receive an extended detention.

Should the student refuse to give up the device when asked, they will be referred to the principal for insubordination,
which will result in a suspension from school.

If a student absolutely needs the use of a cell phone after school hours,
they are to keep it (turned off) in their locker for the entire school day.

Thank you for your support.
