Voter Eligibility

You are a qualified voter if you are:

  • A US Citizen

  • 18 years of age or older by the day of the vote

  • Resident of the district for 30 days immediately before the vote

  • Registered to vote with the Livingston County Board of Elections

What if you qualify to vote, but you aren't registered with the County?

You must be registered in order to participate in the School Budget Vote and School Board Elections.

There are a number of ways you can get registered:

1. Register Online

You can register to vote, or update your voting information, online by using this link: https://elections.ny.gov/register-vote

2. Register By Mail

You can register to vote by mail by Requesting a NYS Voter Registration form by using this link: https://voterregformrequest.elections.ny.gov/voterregistration

Once you've filled out the form- print, sign, and date it. Then mail it to the Livingston County Board of Elections at the County Government Center: 6 Court Street Room 104 Geneseo, NY 14454

You can also call 1-800-FOR-VOTE (1-800-367-8683) to request a voter application.

3. Register In-Person

In New York State, there are a number of ways to register in-person including:

  • By visiting the Livingston County Board of Elections at the County Government Center: 6 Court Street Room 104 Geneseo, NY 14454

  • By visiting any New York State Agency-Based Voter Registration Center

  • By visiting the Department of Motor Vehicles at the Livingston County Government Center: 6 Court Street, Room 204, Geneseo, N.Y. 14454

What if you only want to register to vote in the Keshequa CSD Budget Vote?

  • It is not necessary to register with the Keshequa CSD if you are already a registered voter. 

  • If you are not a registered voter but want to participate in our budget vote please fill out and return this form: Keshequa District Only Voter Registration Form

  • Members of the military looking to take part in the Keshequa CSD Budget Vote can fill out and return this form: Keshequa CSD Military Voter Registration Form

Voting by Absentee Ballot

Eligible voters may request and utilize an Absentee Ballot ahead of the election if they are unable to vote in person for any of the following reasons:

  • Absence from the county on election day

  • Temporary illness or physical disability

  • Permanent illness or physical disability

  • Duties related to primary care of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled

  • Resident or patient of Veterans Health Administration Hospital

  • Detention in jail/prison, awaiting trial, awaiting action by a grand jury, or in prison for conviction of a crime or offense which was not a felony

Important Notice: Military Members should utilize the Keshequa CSD Military Voter Registration Form to request an absentee ballot.

Applications for absentee ballots for the 2025-2026 Budget Vote will be available in April, 2025.
