Mascot Information

In November 2022, the New York State Education Department and the Senior Deputy Commissioner of Education sent a memo to school districts in the state regarding the use of Native American logos, mascots, and names. The memo mandated that districts replace their Native American name, logo, and/or imagery by the end of the 2022-23 school year. Additionally, the memo indicated that forthcoming Regulations would provide more information on the school districts' obligations.

The Keshequa School District has taken several steps since that time to respond to the memo. This page is intended to create a space to provide updates and information to the community.
