The Keshequa Central School District proudly unveiled its new mascot logo at the district’s meet and greet event on the evening of September 3rd.
The new logo showcases a dynamic and modern depiction of a wildcat, embodying the wit, courage, and curiosity that the district aspires for its students to exemplify. This vibrant new symbol aims to inspire school spirit and pride within the Keshequa community.
The selection of the Wildcats as the new mascot followed a comprehensive and thoughtful process, involving input and voting from students, staff, and community members. This decision aligns with the district’s commitment to reflecting the values and identity of its local heritage.
The Keshequa Wildcats pays tribute to Wildcat Gully, a natural landmark near the school, reinforcing a connection to the local environment and history. This change is also in accordance with the new guidelines established by the New York State Department of Education concerning the use of Native American imagery for public school mascots.
