Ms. Lawson’s 2nd grade class started the year out with a team-building activity that helps build their classroom community. During the ‘Save Fred’ activity, students worked together to save a gummy worm named Fred, who had gotten himself trapped on top of his overturned boat. Using only paper clips, groups worked together to figure out how to get the “life preserver” around Fred. Such a fun and challenging activity that encouraged students to share ideas, use creative problem-solving skills, experiment, and ultimately learn how to work together to achieve a goal. In the end, laughter and shrieks of joy filled the class as students saved Fred! #LawsonsLuckyLittleLearners #2ndGradeSquad #KESBetterTogether
